What can I say about me?

I was born and raised in Michigan.  Just a few blocks north of 8 mile road.  (You know, the 8 mile road Eminem made that movie about.  Yea, the Slim Shady guy.)  OK, if you've never heard of him then you're probably older than me or about my age but never had any kids.

I graduated from High School in 1977.  When I was a kid, I lived on a street that had about 20 other kids on it that were all right around the same age as I was.  This was all on one block, less than a quarter mile long.  My grade school was at the end of the block too.

We all had a blast in the winter.  We were always having snow ball fights, building snow men, and smearing each other (rubbing a snowball into someone's face).  One of the funnest things we did was called sceeching.  What's sceeching you say?  It's running up to the back of a vehicle driving on the snowy or icy road, grabbing on to the back bumper, and hanging on for dear life while being dragged along on your feet behind the car.

Once I was sceeching with some other kids and the car started going really fast.  The other kids dropped off but I wanted to be cool so I held on.  It was GREAT!  Well at least up to the part where the car I was holding on to came to a cross road that had been salted.  (They use salt on the roads up here to melt the ice.  It's terrible for your cars because it makes them rust through really fast)  Any ways, as I got to the crossroad my feet stuck to the asphalt road and I became a 100 pound bowling ball tumbling away from the car.

I didn't really get hurt because of the many layers of long underwear and various other clothing, but I didn't ever try to be cool again knowing that I could have gotten killed.

Ah yes, those are fond memories for me but I'm sure it's really boring for you.  Sorry about that.

Since I'm pretty sure there are only about 5 or 6 jobs left in Michigan (and they're all taken), I'm trying to learn how to make money on the internet.  I have my own business doing computer consulting, building, and repairing.  I've been in business for 5 years.  I am hardware and software certified by various companies including Microsoft and Intel.

Wish me luck!

Take care,

Diane
